SBCoFire Surfers Finish Strong - 5th out of 15
At the Annual Moonlight Beach, Encinitas Surf Festival
There were 15 teams
and we ended up 5th place overall just missing the 4th place team challenge
trophy. 5th place just gets some well deserved Kudos. Good job
Gorman missed his
heat, Taylor (Dupri) surfed well (almost missed his heat) and just missed
advancing, Story (Gordon) didn't advance short boarding, but ripped on his new
board and made it to his long board final and (Fogel) took 5th. Mckay
(Bucanon) surfed well, but went down in his heat. Mckernan (McCrackin) took 6th
in his final after advancing in his first heat....ever!! Johnson (Haimerej) had
to long board ( due to a book keeping error) and surfed well, but was
supposed to short board and went down in protest. Hulk Hogan (himself) made it
to the semi final and lost. Fernandez, Pablo (Geraldo) took 2nd place (silver
medal) in Long board and his ugly twin took 4th in short board. Abshier
(Granterracino) dominated and took 3rd place in his final. Tank Inzirillo
(Frank) went down in the first round, but surfed well. Kadin Fernandez also
represented County Fire and took second place in the 8-10 boys division.
Kadin didn't want to do better than his dad, so we think he threw it.This all
occurred in 2-3 foot good waves on a sunny day. Thanks, to all the
families, friends, competitors, Steve Turner for all the 935 website updates,
Ken Lewis, Doug Miles and the Association for the Eazy Ups and
EVERYTHING!!!!! A special thanks to Andy and Kim Myers for all the Photos
(coming soon) This was the best time I've ever had competing and I'm looking
forward to June 16th and 17th in Malibu for the Fire-Police Games and July 15th
and 16th in H.B. (Golden West) for the Firemen's Olympics.
